How to Assemble and Program Otto DIY Bipedal Walking & Dancing Robot

Otto DIY is the world's most popular open-source educational biped robot. Designed with 3D-printed body shells, four micro servos, an ultrasonic eye sensor, and an Arduino Nano heart, Otto walks, sings 8-bit tunes, shakes its hips, and dances along to music.

1. Anatomy of Otto's 4 Servos

  • Left Hip Servo: Controls forward leg swing
  • Right Hip Servo: Controls forward leg swing
  • Left Foot Servo: Controls foot tilting
